DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - News of another drug bust made its way across our desks this morning as a narcotics gang was recently caught attempting to smuggle £10 million ($12.7 million USD) worth of cocaine disguised within banana boxes.

The cocaine arrived at the island city port from the Dominican Republic in two shipments on January 20 and January 26, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Officials from the Metropolitan Police and officers from the United Kingdom Border Force uncovered the drugs, which were hidden within the cardboard packages of the fruit boxes.

Three men were arrested after the narcotics were seized on a ship at Portsmouth International Port in Hampshire.
