QUINCY, MA - After a long and storied career within the industry, Paul Scorza, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Ahold Dehaize’s service arm, Retail Business Services, is set to retire.

After more than seven years of dedicated service to the company, Scorza will retire at the end of 2020. He will still remain with Retail Business Services in advisory capacity, a press release noted, to ensure a seamless transition with his replacement.

The news release went on to note that a search for Scorza's successor is now officially underway.

Roger Wheeler, President of Retail Business Services, commented on how Paul Scorza's contribution to the company was essential to its long-term growth.

"Paul has been an excellent leader in the information and technology space for our organization, and we're extremely appreciative of his many successes," said Wheeler. "Under his leadership, Paul helped ensure the successful merger of Ahold and Delhaize and stood up the IT organization supporting all of the U.S. brands under Retail Business Services. He has also pioneered new technologies to better serve customers from 'Scan & Go' frictionless checkout to piloting a new frictionless store. We thank Paul for his dedicated service and wish him all the best during retirement."
