Albertsons Chief Customer and Digital Officer Chris Rupp Departs
REYNOLDSBURG, OH - News hit the airwaves late last week as Christine (Chris) Rupp made her next retail move. The Albertsons Chief Customer and Digital Officer revealed she was leaving the grocery name and has joined Victoria’s Secret & Co. (VS&Co) as Chief Customer Officer.
“When I joined Albertson’s in December of 2019 I was excited about the prospect of making it easier to shop for fresh food. Little did I know that I would only have a short time to ramp up before the Pandemic hit - and it was no longer a matter of convenience, it was critical to give people more access - safely,” Rupp wrote in a LinkedIn post. “A couple of years later - we have delivered so many great experiences to our customers, I couldn’t be more proud. So it is time for me to move on to the next adventure.”
In her Albertsons position, Rupp was responsible for dramatically expanding the loyal customer base and e-commerce distribution while improving the speed and cost of delivery. Prior to joining Albertsons, Rupp was at Microsoft and Amazon, where she led Fulfillment by Amazon and launched Amazon Prime Day.
This announcement comes after VS&Co announced a reorganization. The retailer will be rolling out a new corporate leadership structure designed to enable execution of its strategy and fuel long-term growth goals.
A renowned digital leader in the retail space, Rupp is continuing to build on her 30-year career. According to the release, Rupp has deep data and e-commerce expertise, and she will be responsible for creating a seamless store and digital commerce business globally for VS&Co. Additionally, she will be accountable for sales and profitability across both channels.
We wish all the very best for Chris Rupp as she continues on in her next chapter!
