Loblaw Adds its Online Grocery Pick Up to Four New Stores
BRAMPTON, CANADA - Loblaw has announced it is expanding its online grocery program, Click & Collect, to include four more locations in British Columbia.
Customers can now place orders through Loblaw’s Real Canadian Superstore website for pickup at its stores on Grandview Highway in Vancouver, Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam, Langley and Kelowna. Additional stores will be added to the program in Coquitlam, Vancouver and Red Deer, Alta. in the coming weeks, according to the Vancouver Sun.
“They shop from over 20,000 items, and once they place their order, we have in store personal shoppers that will collect the items for them, keeping in mind their preferences, selecting the freshest items available,” explains Lauren Steinberg, Loblaw's Director of Marketing, to the Global News. “And when you arrive to pick up your order, we’ll even bring it out to your car.”
In what Lauren says has been a year-long rollout, the program that started near Toronto is now operating in 26 stores across Ontario, Edmonton, and now British Columbia.
Lauren added that the program’s personal shoppers are trained to pay attention to detail, such as picking the freshest produce possible and appropriate expiry dates on perishables. Orders are delivered right to customers' cars in special areas of the parking lot, and Loblaw has found that its shoppers and concierges make personal connections with regular customers, she tells the Vancouver Sun.
"We don't know what the future holds, but we are excited at the adoption rate, and as we hear from customers, we'll see what's in store next," Lauren said.
The Vancouver Sun reports that Loblaw will require a minimum $30 order size for the service, with a $3 to $5 convenience fee tacked on.
As the trend of online grocery ordering continues to grow within Loblaw and beyond, AndNowUKnow will be on the forefront of providing continued updates.
