Doug Ranno, President of Harvest Sensations and Founder of Musical Harvest, Makes Cash Box Traditional Country Countdown
SALINAS, CA - One thing I love about this industry is that its members continue to be full of surprises.
Doug Ranno, President of Harvest Sensations and CEO and Founder of Musical Harvest, has charted in at Number 19 for Cashbox Magazine’s top 20 for Traditional Country/Outlaw/Rockabilly. Ranno announced the good news yesterday on Facebook.
The song, Part of Me, is an original country ballad Ranno wrote in 1986 while working for Raley’s and volunteering at a counseling center for veterans. The song tells the story of a veteran of Afghanistan who continues to carry with them the images and experiences of that time.
“When I wrote that song in 1986, I was a produce clerk in a supermarket and I wrote the words on a paper bag,” Ranno said in an interview regarding the song’s inspiration. “I never really thought it would turn into anything but it’s sure been with me for almost 29 years now.”
Ranno and his group, The Harvesting Crew™, released their studio produced album, The Musical Harvester™, in 2014, featuring a new release of Part of Me.
Previously, the country ballad was used as background music for the Emmy-nominated documentary Perceptions, according to the music group’s website.

As a member of the produce industry, Ranno and The Harvesting Crew™, have previously performed to support agriculture, including playing at the Guitars, Old Cars for Salad Bars hosted by the Grower-Shipper Association Foundation in Salinas, CA, last year.
