G&R Farms Joins How2Recycle Program®; Walt Dasher Discusses
GLENNVILLE, GA - Sustainability is a hot sector to thrive in as consumers continue to seek out companies that are more environmentally friendly. G&R Farms is taking its commitment to be green and eco-friendly seriously, becoming the first-ever onion supplier to join the How2Recycle® program.
“Consumers want more than just quality; they want to feel that the products and brands that they purchase align with their personal values and that those companies are doing their part,” Walt Dasher, Vice President of G&R Farms, remarked. “Consideration for recycling and sustainable packaging solutions has to be one of our top priorities as we help solve waste-related problems.”
As a third-generation family farm rooted in honesty and integrity, G&R believes it is a responsibility to help protect the environment for future generations. To reach this endeavor, G&R has placed sustainability at the forefront of its practices with the help of How2Recycle. The U.S. and Canada-based labeling company clearly communicates recycling instructions to the public. Its mission is to take the guesswork out of recycling and getting more materials into recycling bins.
According to the release, G&R Farms has already moved many recyclable packaging initiatives forward as part of its How2Recycle program commitment. This includes widely recyclable boxes and Store Drop-off recyclable bags as well as using 20 percent recycled material in its film and netting on its bags.
How2Recycle is more than just a label—it involves a coalition of over 380 forward-thinking brands and members who want to effectively communicate the recyclability of their packaging by empowering consumers through clear and concise packaging labels.
