Joolies Expands Distribution to the East Coast and Into Europe
SANTA MONICA, CA - For some shoppers, it’s been far too long since they sat down and enjoyed a date. If you’re an avid reader of ANUK, you know I’m not talking about a fancy night on the town, but rather the medjool dates that adorn fresh produce departments. Bolstering its strategy to introduce more consumers to the date category, Joolies has announced a rapid expansion of its distribution network, now reaching the U.S. East Coast and Europe, including the U.K.
“We believe our fresh approach will invite new millennial snackers to discover the joy of eating medjool dates, and at the same time, grow the category incrementally and bring more attention to dates," said CEO Mark Masten.
With this recent expansion, Joolies Dates is now available in over 2,000 locations worldwide. Known for its vibrant mint packaging, the Coachella-based brand is on a mission to bring new consumers into the organic date category, according to a press release. The Joolies brand has garnered attention in its first two years of business, winning awards from Health Magazine, the Specialty Food Association, and the Produce Marketing Association, and being featured in several highly recognized magazines and media outlets.
”For maximum quality, each date is hand-picked and packaged at peak ripeness and never dried or re-hydrated,” said Co-Founder David Kohl, who has farmed organic Medjool dates for nearly 20 years in California. “We’re excited to bring our homegrown ‘nature’s palm tree candy’ to new retailers across the U.S., and now into Europe.”
In the European market, Joolies will offer both wholesale 5 kg boxes in jumbo, large, and premium grade medjools, in addition to shelf-ready consumer packs of whole and pitted dates similar to the alluring mint boxes found on shelves in the U.S.
In the U.S., Joolies' products can be found in the Mid-Atlantic in Shoprite, Safeway, and Acme stores, as well as Lowe’s Markets in North and South Carolina.
