Veg-Fresh Farms Earns Top SQF Scores and Named Supplier of the Year by Two National Restaurant Chains; Mark Widder and Bob Wright Comment
CORONA, CA - With less than two months left on the desk calendar, Veg-Fresh Farms is closing out the year with a bang. The grower was recently awarded “Supplier of the Year” by two major national restaurant chains. To add the cherry on top, Veg-Fresh also received a phenomenal score of 99 percent after an unannounced, three-day-long audit by SQF.

In addition to the grower’s recognition this past fall, Veg-Fresh also received a near-perfect score on its SQF audit.
“Our 99 percent SQF score validates the years of preparation and hard work we have put forth into our food safety processes,” Bob Wright, General Manager, commented. “Since our facility change in 2014, we have put forth an extensive amount of effort in making quality assurance a part of the Veg-Fresh Farms culture; where any member of our team can talk to our food safety standards with confidence and point to the various levels of accountability we have placed in every aspect of our facility, team, and products.”
According to the release, SQF scores are graded on the company’s ability to meet or exceed USDA commodity specifications. Aspects such as food handling, produce quality, regulatory and legal standards, and detailed inspection of proper protocols for any event that may arise regarding food safety are all taken into consideration.
