GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Growth, growth, and more growth. That is what is in store for food solutions company SpartanNash as it welcomes a key leader to its team. Naming Binu Varghese as Vice President, Applications and Data, the retailer is bolstering one of its key divisions as part of its ongoing growth strategy.

The experienced technology and product leader joins SpartanNash, effective immediately, from Carrier Corporation in Atlanta, where he served as Global Director of Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence. In his new role, Varghese will oversee multiple areas within the company, developing innovation strategies and driving results in addition to leading the delivery of priority projects and new, data-driven solutions to help expand the business.

Varghese has extensive domain experience in retail, manufacturing, and consumer goods.

According to a press release, his past leadership roles include serving as Head of Enterprise Data, Analytics, and AI for Rentpath; Vice President of Analytics for Genpact; and Data Engineering and Analytics Portfolio Leader for Cognizant Technology Solutions. He was also named one of the World’s Leading Data Leaders by Chief Data Officer Magazine in 2022.

Varghese earned his MBA from Emory University and his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the National Institute of Technology in Surat, India.
