Acme Fresh Market's President Jim Trout Steps Down
AKRON, OH - Acme Fresh Market is bidding adieu to its longtime President, Jim Trout. Trout’s last day will be Friday, April 26, 2019—the same day that a new leader will be named.
“I’m looking forward to pursuing other things but still staying close to the grocery business and working with Acme,” Trout, who will be taking on a part-time position with the retailer, said to news source Record-Courier. “I know that this job takes a seven-day commitment. At this point in my career, I’m ready to throttle it back a bit.”
For the last 45 years, Trout has called Acme his home. In 2014, he became the first non-Albrecht (the family behind Acme’s business) family member to become President of the 16-store chain.
“I basically learned the business from the ground up in various positions through the years,” Trout continued, divulging to the news source that he began his Acme journey as a grocery stocker on the night crew. He then spent the next 45 years working his way up through the ranks, taking on management and corporate roles.
Who will take succeed Trout as President? Will the chain return to Albrecht leaders? AndNowUKnow will continue to report on the latest retail happenings.
